We love seeing what y'all are wearing, so get in touch (deana@sourz.co.uk) if you'd like to be featured!
Being a student, I'm used to having more nights-out than nights-in and so my wardrobe is full of party dresses and high heels.
When Sourz asked me to do a guest post I knew exactly which outfit I wanted to show you - this is my current favourite dress and I can see myself wearing it a lot this summer whilst drinking cocktails and dancing the night away!
Belt: New Look
Shoes: New Look
Bag: Primark
Ring: Charity Shop
The dress is a really flattering 50s style shirt dress with a fitted top and flared out skirt. My favourite thing about it though is the print - rainbow flamingos! Unfortunately the weather isn't exactly tropical in Britain just now so I've paired it with some black tights, but once it gets warmer this dress would look great with bare legs (with lots of fake tan!). I love dresses that can be worn either for day or night, and I think this one would also be great with leggings and a cardi for wearing in the day time.
I don't usually like being too matchy-matchy with my accessories, but I think because of the bold print on the dress the pink bag and belt really work with this outfit. The belt is bright pink and has sequins on it, what's not to love?! It's such an interesting shape too, it makes a nice change from a boring black belt. A couple of years ago these chain-strap bags were all the rage and absolutely everyone seemed to have one! I still like to use this pink one because it's a great size for a night out (plenty of room for essentials like flat shoes and an umbrella!) and it really helps to brighten up plain black dresses.
These New Look wedges are one of my favourite pairs of shoes at the moment. They're great for dancing in and are much more comfy than ordinary heels. Even though they're wedges, they don't seem too big and chunky so they still look great with girly dresses.
I hope you enjoyed this outfit post, remember to check out my blog elevatormusik for more posts like this! Gillian x
Summer Summer Summertime

Here at Sourz HQ we have LOADS of really fun stuff going on in the next couple of months which we'll be able to tell you about sooooooon. But in the meantime, here are some tips on how to get in the summer mood.
1. Summer Fresher cocktails with your mates. In the sun. Preferably at a BBQ.
2. Put the winter jumpers into storage. Chilly nights be damned!
3. Buy yourself a pair of these (lads) or these (lassies).
4. Sort out the T in your GTL like the Geordie Shore lot.
5. Find your perfect summer TUNE and play it on repeat.
Wash, rinse, repeat.

Pineapple Wish List
Clearly, we've been pineapple obsessed lately.
Today is no different.
Here is my lust list of pineapple inspired items.
- I don't really know where I'd ever wear this particlar dress, but that doesn't mean I won't love it forever. It's £70 and from Warehouse. Now you can love it too.

(via Warehouse.co.uk)
- Havianas were put on this earth to make all of our holidays more enjoyable. Truth. £18 from Asos.

(via Asos.com)
- Aw. A pineapple pendant. Adorable.<3 Tatty Devine.

(via Tattydevine.com)
- Did you know beach towels sometimes cost 60 quid?! No I didn't either! Imagine dropping that sort of cash on something that will inevitably end up balled up in the corner of your closet, moldy and smelling of old sunscreen. But nevermind that! THIS Mac Jacobs towel just too much fun!

Lads lust list coming tomorrow!

How to Pull Off the Pineapple Look
We're clearly loving Sourz Pineapple at the moment. So in the spirit of Pineapples, we thought we'd give you all some direction on how to pull off the Hawaiian look at your next fancy dress party.
But before we begin, let's take a second to remember Jason Lee... Making his way into the history books for an infamous hair-do rather than his footballing abilities - Jason Lee will always remembered for the song "He's got a pineapple, on his head!" Sung in the jaunty tune of a traditional British folk song... And a prime example of how to not to wear the Pineapple look!
Right. Some helpful links for you:
- A step by step guide that gives advice on clothing, makeup and even facepaint. Also, lads, do you know what a Haka Warrior Hunk is? Probably the best costume idea ever.
- In case you haven't received your free Sourz Pineapple sunnies yet, these will do the trick.
As long as you can steal the show like the infamous Calvin Harris moment, you'll have a good party.
(....For those that have forgotten, Calvin Harris ran on stage with a Pineapple on his head during the "Jedward" performance of the 2009 X Factor finals. Allegedly mocking the show at how far it had moved from a 'Music Competition'. I salute you Calvin....Watch it again here.

Guest post - What RAWR! Wore
This is another fab guest post from the lovely ladies at The Style Rawr. Visit their site and follow them on Twitter NOW! They're seriously amazing and oh so stylish.
We love seeing what y'all are wearing, so get in touch (deana@sourz.co.uk) if you'd like to be featured!
Rawr Style!
I can’t really categorize my style, though I know I have it ;) It mostly revolves around skinnies, a lot of layering and a ton of leopard print. I rarely buy vintage but you won’t often find me loaded up with shopping bags from the high street either, I just like what I like!

This is my current favourite outfit. The cape style top is by Evil Twin, I adore how it falls at the back. The skeleton leggings are Wildfox Couture. both came from Spoiled Brat.
I usually throw a drape style cardi over this look; this black one is from AX Paris. The flash peeping from underneath the cover-up looks cool, but you should never be afraid to go hard on a look, some might say leopard AND bones, really?! I say, umm, SO?
So you might think I’m a bit dark and twisty from those pics? Nuh-uh! I like my unicorn brights as much as the next girl, check out another new fave, my Rock Boutique sweater – it’s so soft and cheery, it always puts me in a good mood!

Notice the cute leopard heart? Yep, I match my nails to it using Rebel Nails wraps; don’t pretend you’re not impressed!

And that’s a sneak peek into this girl’s latest closet happenings. RAWR ;)
Valentine's Day Party Dresses for Every Style
We're officially in the dregs of winter. The holidays are over, the days are short, and the weather is bloody miserable.
This also means that Valentine's Day is right around the corner. There are few holidays that are more polarizing than this big day. Depending on your Facebook relationship status, you might be anxiously awaiting or absolutely dreading the 14th of Febuary, 2011.
Our philospophy, however, is to embrace this day as an excuse to have a party. No matter if you're single, married, or 'it's complicated' - we say get dressed up, go out, and have a damn good time.
ASOS, as ever, has an amazing lineup of party dresses in stock. And while there isn't a rule stating that you must wear pink or red on the 14th, we always like to get in to the spirit of things!
Here are our choices:
ASOS.com - ASOS Waisted Seam Detail Dress, £25
Raise your hand if you're obsessed with Black Swan. Okay, now all you lot can go buy this dress.
ASOS.com - ASOS Wowzer Batwing Dress, £55
For fashionistas and bohemians, alike. The 70's look is THE look of spring/summer 2011.
ASOS Ponti-Roma Tailored Pencil Dress
For the office lass. Nothing says sexy like an A-line skirt and heels. Also, totally Victoria B. inspired.
Motel Contrast Trim 2 in 1 Jenna Dress, £38
Speaking of Posh, this jaunty little number is perfect if your favourite Spice was Sporty Spice. Love you Mel C.!
ASOS Folded Circle Hem 60s Shift Dress, £65
We think this one is way cute in that awesome retro-but-totally-wearable way.

ASOS Chiffon and Mesh Drape Dress, £45
Very flirty. Watch the hemline though, hello upper thighs!
ASOS Plain Long Prom Dress, £40
If you're a bit more modest, this lovely frock will do you just fine.
ASOS Peterpan Collar Open Back Dress, £45
For the daring fashionistas among us. The Peterpan collar is so now and the open back adds subtle sex appeal.
Rare Pleated Beandeau Chiffon Dress, £55
Just your basic, adorable V-day dress. Now throw on a cute blazer and go!

Shoes for dudes
Right gents, you need some shoes for the cold weather, but you don't want to stomp around in heavy boots all winter.
Here are some very affordable and warm(ish) shoe options for you.
River Island Dalton Buckle Boots, £65 via ASOS
These boots are totally versitile. Buy them now and wear them throughout winter, into spring and then maybe even to a festival or two this summer. Yes they have a hint of boyband, but only slightly. So long as your keep your trousers smart and your chest covered, you wont look like you've stepped out of a Westlife photoshoot.
Ask the Missus COOKIE DESERT BOOT CHOC SUEDE, £57 via Office
These might not be the best for our wet British winters, but on dry days these will look posh without sacrificing comfort. Wear with smart trousers for a job interview or with denim for a night out. They come in black as well, although we're feeling this chocolate colour.
Clarks Originals Exclusive to ASOS Harris Tweed 1950s Desert Boots, £90 via ASOS
Clarks aren't just for geeky young lads with sensible mums anymore. Plus, the cool kids across the pond are all over harris tweed this winter. These are definitely the showiest of the bunch - but that ain't always a bad thing!
Mens Schuh Havana Brogue Boot Boots, £70 via Schuh
Like this season's brogue look, but not into the too-trendy shoe shape? These brogue boots are low key enough to be worn every day, but smart enough to be worn with your best outfits. A solid shoe investment for a reasonable £70.
"BALE" BUCKLE BOOT, £46 via Topman
Loving the price, the point on the toe and the shiny buckles! These are for our glam rockers on a budget. Skinny jeans a must with these lookers. Also, try not to scuff them too much, mmkay? That's when the low price point starts to show.
Happy shoe shopping. Bye for now, boys!

Autumnal Apple Sourz
The Polyvore set below is dedicated to our beloved Apple Sourz.
I've taken it easy on the eye-popping neons though, and instead created on a more subdued, muted and autumnal Apple Sourz homage. With a bit of a mod twist.
(Plus, green clothes and accessories are harder to find than you'd think!)
Tights FTW
I have a well-documented love for the fantastic fashion blog, What Katie Wore. Katie, the blog's namesake, is an undeniable fashion plate. Her outfits are always creative, totally unique and brilliantly colourful.
Katie is known among her readers/fans for wearing amazing tights and I've always wondered where she finds these gems.
But now I have my very own hoisery resource. Enter: Tights Please
It's a veritable legwear mecca.
Here are some that I have my eye on:
Henry Holland's Citights Collection, £11.95 per pair
The Statue of Liberty tights are adorable! This line is limited edition, so snatch them up quickly.
Wolford Bondage Tights (as seen on Ms. Cherly Tweedy!) £32

Clearly not for the faint of heart!
Le Bourget Coloured Opagues 50 Denier, £10 per pair

Available in all the Sourz colours.
Jonathan Aston Jigsaw Pattern Tights, £10

Another pair for brave souls only, but sure to turn heads!
Jonathan Aston Peacock Embellished Tights, £18

With just a small embellishment on the calf, these are totally wearable with loads of different outfits on any occasion.
And finally, Pamela Mann Natural Leopard Print Tights, £5.49

At this price, you can't NOT get them.

Spirited Summer Berry inspired MENSWEAR
We have a very special Spirited Summer Berry announcement coming your way soon!!
But in the meantime, lets savour the last bit of summer colour with a Summer Berry inspired menswear set!
A predominantly preppy vibe, eh?

A celebration of CHERRY
People always seem so eager to pack away their bright colours when fall rolls around.
But not me! I created a Polyvore set of Fall '10 footwear and accessory trends dedicated to one of my favourite Sourz flavours, Cherry.

Thanks to Katie from What Katie Wore I'm now obsessed with colourful opaque tights. She wears them so well! The pair above are from Topshop along with that gorgeous umbrella. Thanks to Scottish weather an umbrella is now a must-have accessory for me!
Both of the shoes, fringed bag, watch and pretty little fawn brooch are from ASOS. I'm riding the brogue train pretty hard this season - I don't anticipate that they'll be going away anytime soon. And all I have is pure, unadulterated lust for that fringe bag!
Thanks for Dov Charney and American Apparel for those fab sunnies! They're ALMOST as cool as the Sourz sunglasses.
Feeling Feline
Fall fashion has hit store shelves. As much as it pains me to pack away my denim cutoffs and floral dresses, I'm excited for a fresh start.
There are a lot of trends that speak to me this season. I'm obsessed with all the new Aviator Jackets, but haven't found the right one yet. I've already invested in an on-trend satchel, thanks to Baglimited on Ebay! And I'm eyeing up a lush vintage varsity jacket....
But my favourite fall 2010 trend?
Leopard print EVERYTHING.
ASOS Wild Cat Leopard Print Dress £36
This dress has been sitting on my ASOS wish list since I first spotted it a couple weeks back. A stretch leopard print dress with spaghetti straps can cut dangerously close to over-the-top-sexiness territory, but I'm thinking that the black panels and length of this particular one balance that out.

Zara - Leopard Print Pullover £26
I'm absolutely loving Zara's new online shop!!! My credit card not so much...but nevermind that!! Just look at this gem. You get two trends in one, Camel colour AND leopard print.

New Look - Animal Maxi Skirt £20
Besides being terribly chic, Maxi skirts are beyond comfortable. Buy this one and look bang on-trend this season.
Urban Outfitters - Leopard Print Lace Up £28
Totally affordable, wearable, and fashionable. There's no excuse NOT to get them!

Urban Outfitters - Bold Leopard Print Legging £22
Some say leggings are over, but I don't agree! Dedicated to our inner rock chick, confidence is a must with this pair!

River Island - Brown Leopard Print Ankle Socks £4
If you invest in only one of the items on this page, make it these lovely socks. A massive wardrobe update for only £4. Wear them with lace up boots and a skirt for a serious fashion statement!

Trendspotting: Silly Bandz
What do celebs Sarah Jessica Parker and Agyness Deyn have in common?
(Besides, um, loads of designer gear, famous friends and Hollywood parties...)
Silly Bandz!!

Silly Bandz are rubber bracelets that are formed into all different types of shapes including animals, objects and letters. When you're wearing one, it looks just like a colourful plastic bracelet - but when you take it off, it reverts back to the original shape.

The more you pile on your wrist, the better.

They're supposed to be for children, but in the states Silly Bandz are ALL the rage with full grown fashionistas!
And the best part? They're cheap. Less than a fiver for a packet of 24 Silly Bandz.
Mark my words, if you haven't already - you'll soon be seeing Silly Bandz everywhere you turn! I'm about to go order a packet of the 'Western' themed bandz! Buy now and stay ahead of the trend. ;)

Freshers Week Fashion
The days are getting shorter; the nights are a little colder. Ladies and gentlemen, summer is officially coming to a close. :(
But for loads of students around the nation, the fun is just about to begin. Freshers week is almost upon us!
But....what to wear??!!?
1. The golden rule for Freshers Week is to just be yourself. People can sniff out a try-hard from miles away. So stay true to your real style. If you rock the preppy look, invest in a shiny new pair of brogues (love these for men and these for women). If you're more a graphic tee type of bloke, treat yourself to that one you've been eyeing up all summer. Pharrell's Billionaire Boys Club/Ice Cream lines are pricey, but he has some awesome designs to chose from. My favourites:

(and this slightly more affordable one from TopShop)

2. Comfort is paramount. You'll no doubt be subjecting your body to some long days (and even longer nights). A pair of jeans that you can throw on with anything and everything will definitely come in handy.
Love these.
Men - ASOS Washed Skinny Fit Jeans £36

Women - ASOS Biker Knee Skinny Jean - £34

3. And finally, you'll be needing a new bag for all your...erm...books! Luckily, rucksacks are back in fashion. I adore this canvas one from ASOS.

I'll be covering Freshers Week EVENING styles next...

Ibiza Calling
By now, you may have heard about our contest to send a lucky Sourz fan and 3 of their mates on sun drenched trip to Ibiza. If you haven't already entered, you should do so quickly - the winner will be chosen very soon!
If you DO win - or are just planning a lush summer holiday - you'll be needing something to wear on the beach.
There are hundreds upon thousands of swimwear trends and styles. But in the spirit of SOURZ - I'll pick one that corresponds to each Sourz flavour and colour. Ladies only this time around - guys I'll get you next!
Pineapple -
The tribal pattern trend is still going strong. And as much as I love it, I can't seem to muster up the courage to don a pair of tribal print trousers or leggings. But swimwear is a great place to try out bolder patterns. The bikini from French Connection below fits the bill plus the seperates are on sale.

Apple -
I love this two toned bikini from American Apparel. It's so interesting - guaranteed to turn heads.

Blackcurrant -
H! by Henry Holland for Debehams is a favourite at the moment. This plaid tankini is definitly loud - but you could also use it to tap into the current 'underwear as outerwear' style and layer it under (or over) another shirt. It's also on sale.
![]()
Cherry -
I love retro bikinis. So many of the retro style tops are outfitted with underwire or cup support. This makes them especially ideal for curvier girls who have difficulty finding a fit that is cute AND supportive. The Urban Outfitters number below is flirty, femme and it appears to be totally wearable as well.

Tropical -
This lovely number from ASOS might not be the most practical, but the one-shoulder look is bang on trend and the ruffles are too cute.

And finally, the wild card. Spirited Summer Berry-
Beach coverups are essential. This sporty meshy coverup from Topshop is gorgeous - and chic enough to wear with jeans or leggings when you're back home!

What are you wearing on the beach this summer??

Accessory Obsession
I've fallen in love with the nameplate necklaces from Tatty Devine.

I first saw them on this post from my favourite blog, What Katie Wore.
You might remember when one was worn by a certain main character of a certain American TV show about 4 single women looking for love in the big apple.
What was her name again?

To be totally honest, I've suffered a bit of nameplate necklace fatigue in recent years. But this new incarnation from Tatty Devine is just DELIGHTFUL.
They're all totally customisable right down to the font. And maybe best of all, THEY COME IN ALL THE SOURZ COLOURS! I might get one in lime green that reads 'Apple Sourz'.
For devout Twitterers- how cute would it be to get one with your @Twitter handle instead of your name?
